The Ring (still)

I find this still interesting the reason for this is because I like the way Samara in portrayed in this still and the mise en scene helps us become involved with the characters feelings and emotion. The mise en scene is a plane white wall and white floor, I find this colour disturbing to stare at which could link to how the character is feeling. Innocence is mostly portrayed by the colour white, which you would expect the character to be as she comes across as a little 'innocent' girl.
Straight away the mise en scene makes me wonder where she is, white washed walls and floor with a young girl sitting there with some kind of lead by her feet. Its as thought she's isolated on the chair and she can't move from the chair.
The young girl looks pale and ill or maybe tired as she has a pale face and dark eyes. The wire prop portrays maybe she is ill as I associate a wire like this with hospitals, also because shes in a room such as this could also tell us she could be mentally ill which makes sense of the mise en scene and how she is shown.
This still looks uncomfortable and makes us question why she could be in such a place and what could have happened to her.

Shrooms (Still)

I find the still is an inspiration for my own movie as I would like my mise en scene to have the same surroundings. This is because the woodland could be seen as a scary place if your on your own and the trees are tall which show the audience the characters are all alone and look small compared to the trees although the characters are more powerful then the trees as they have axes which can chop the down.

The characters look suspicious straight away as they have cuts and blood on their faces which makes us wonder whether the blood is his own, (somebody could of scratched him to try and get away) or somebody else's ( he could of hurt or killed somebody). Also they have axes which could portray they are dangerous.

The guy near the front looks dirty his teeth look unclean and rotten, which could mean he does'nt have the privileges we do. This also could portray he lives rough.

What would i change?

If I could go back and change my movie I would of used more characters, thought of a better climax and I would of started filming from the outside of the wood to make it seem a little more real.

Shrooms (still)

I chose this still because I think its affective, I like the way her eyes have been edited to portray that something is wrong with her or maybe could make us think our eyes are playing games with what we are seeing but also that could relate to the character as she could be seeing things wrongly.

The scenery doesn't look too scary, although she is in the woods but I think the daylight emphasizes her eyes and how something could just be wrong with her not her surroundings. The daylight also makes the scene seem normal. She looks pale, a little unclean which could mean she hasn't been home or somewhere she could of been freshened up. The camera shot is medium close up, this also brings out her eyes in the still.
