Chainsaw Massacare (still)

I chose this still because the scenery portrays stillness and loneliness as the Masochist is walking down the empty road. It could portray he is a lonely outsider.
We can judge his character from what he is wearing and carrying in his hand. Dirty clothing could portray an unclean man, he has an apron on which could represent he is some sort of butcher also he has a chainsaw which could tell us he is a dangerous man or that he is about to do something with the chainsaw.

Jeepers creepers opening... (video clip)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nzLq1BoLxQc

This video clip begins silent, which makes us focus on the mise en scene more. We can see the grass moving on an extreme close up camera shot, we can also see the background of hills and trees which look calm.

Then we see a medium long shot of the cross, this could portray death maybe it could makes us think of a God figure. We hear a none- diagetic sound of birds, but some birds are singing some are shrieking which could represent the mise en scene as the calm grass and hills could be the relaxing singing bird and the uncontrolled tall crops which could be portrayed by the shrieking unpleasant crows call.

We can then see the young boy walking through the tall grass and we hear him mumbling to himself which could tell us hes lonely and has nobody else to talk to and then we see a shot of the boy and the scarecrows in front of him which could tell the audience hes not alone.
Meanwhile at the farm we can see from the dogs point of view how far away the boy is from the farm, also we can see the dog is sensing something wrong and makes the audience believe his instincts.

Again the mise en scene changes back to the boy in the field, a soundtrack begins to play which builds tension then all of a sudden a sharp uncomfortable sound occurs when the scare crow turns his head, the camera angle changes it becomes a close up of the young boys face which it to portrays his emotions and confusion. The soundtrack becomes more tense as the boy runs away and then we hear the boy screaming and shouting none-diagetically as we can not see him making the sound as the monstrous scarecrow whisks him away
.

Jeepers Creepers (still)

I chose this still because it tells us a lot about the character. We can see the character perched on the cross, this could portray that the character is some sort of God like creature which is ironic as it really is an evilFont size character but also could portray he has power.
We are looking up at the creature which could show his importance and maybe that he is in control. The scenery behind him looks innocent, quite and maybe happy.
On the other hand the character on the cross looks devil like as he's all in black which also could represent death. It's as though the scare crow interrupts the calmness.

Halloween (still)

I have chosen this still from Halloween because the character is the steriotype I will be playing in my movie also because it shows us who the main character is in the movie. The way he looks tells us a lot about himself also we are looking up at the character which again like Jeepers Creepers could portray power.

We can't see his true face which creates suspicion as to who he really is and we can't see any emotion, which could portray how he's feeling inside. Furthermore he seems as thought he is looking down on somebody which maybe he has the power over and he has a clean knife ready.
